Below we can see the basic steps of conventional dental implant surgery

 

incision This is a view of an incision into the soft tissue of the lower jaw
elevating_soft_tissue An Instrument is utilized to peel the soft tissue off of the bone
exposed_bone Here we can see the exposed bone under the soft tissue
Drill We can then use a drill to make the hole in the bone for the implant
implant_placement

 

The implant is placed directly into the bone.

sutures

 

Once the implant is in place, the gums are sewn over the bone and implant.
